Dental Surgical Microscope

Our clinical team has access to the use of the exclusive Opmi® Pico Zeiss, a dental surgical microscope that has made an incredible difference and brought endodontic practices into the 21st century.

Traditional root canals often have problems with hard to reach areas that are “black holes,” areas that are almost impossible to see. Treating these areas requires the use of x-rays and highly skilled professionals. Theses obstacles are easily overcome here at Vélez&Lozano. We take advantage of the magnification and coaxial illumination powers of the Opmi® Pico Zeiss and combine this with our expert knowledge in order to treat even the hardest to reach places.

The OPMI® pico shows the most minute details and seemingly invisible reaches of the mouth. This allows our skilled team to offer you the highest quality treatments and dental exams in order to resolve problems that are hard to see with the naked eye, such as cracks or fissures in the tooth.

Prepping and working on the internal root of a patient’s teeth is one of the most basic aspects of modern day endodontics. For this reason, here at Vélez&Lozano we rely on X-Smart IQ® in order to measure the speed and force applied to every duct during treatment.

Through iPad® integration, we are able to create a wireless endodontic engine that generates a database in which we store incredibly accurate information on the individual treatment we give to each patient, as well as the state of each of their individual roots.

This allows us to offer a unique and individualized treatment plan adapted to each patient’s needs. This type of treatment minimalizes file fractures within the canals that are often produced using conventional endodontic methods.

Ultimately, the success of an endodontic treatment depends on sealing the dental ducts with the maximum precision possible in order to deliver successful, long-term results. This is something that Vélez&Lozano achieves using a 3D thermoplastic shutter system.

This technology, based on heating a material called gutta percha (which is commonly used in endodontics,) allows us to “expand” and improve upon the inside of a tooth in all directions. Doing so coats any anatomical irregularity and offers results that are of a much higher caliber than that of a classic manual shutter.

After a root canal treatment, a tooth can loose some of its structure. This makes it necessary to restore the integrity of the tooth’s structure. At Vélez&Lozano we have the most up-to-date technology such as an intraoral scanner and iTero Elements®. We are the first clinic in the Region of Murcia with such technology available to us.

Having this technology at our disposal allows us to avoid making a classic “mold” and instead use an advanced computer program in order to reconstruct parts of the tooth that have been compromised. We can do so without having to “file down” parts of the tooth that aren’t compromised, such as is necessary when using a “crown”.

At Vélez&Lozano we strive to maintain the maximum amount of dental tissue possible. We only replace parts of a tooth that have been affected by cavities or tooth decay using ceramic or composite inlays. We apply techniques that work best for each individual case and allow for the highest quality results in order to preserve the largest majority of the natural tooth.
